How to write a Resolution

Now, to finish off your story, you will need a Resolution. This word resolution, comes from the word resolve. Keep in mind, that the resolution, although it does come from the word resolve, is not always a happy ending. For example: the Rangers Apprentice series has allot of books that don't conclude at the end of the book because the next book will have the real ending.- Jojo.m

In a resolution, you don't need much. What you mainly need to do is find a way to finish your story. Always remember not to introduce many characters, unless they have something to do with how the story is concluded. The Resolution must have a fair bit of speech in it. Also if you are thinking about writing a script for a mini movie, they have resolutions too!

How to Start your Resolution

For some people starting your resolution can be the hardest part of your story! Others may find it pretty easy. When starting your resolution, you will need to think about how everything will resolve itself. Remember to start from where you left your storys complecation. Try to have your main charactor solve your story.

How to End your Resolution

Do not make your resolution a cliffhanger, unless of course you are going to write a series and the ending is in the next book. You need to have events that lead up to the ending. Remember that you cannot introduce a new character in your resolution especially if you end the story right after introducing it. Here is an example of a resolution:

The room suddenly fell quiet, but of course I could tell I was in a small cage. I looked through the bars and everyone had left while I was eating. I looked around and to my surprise, my captive had left his keys! FAIL! I reached through the bars only just fitting through but he left the right next the cage so it was pretty easy. I tried all of the keys big enough until I heard a click. the door creaked open. I was FREE! And it was all thanks to my captive forgetting his keys!

Again, your resolution will be longer but make sure it is not too long!
